Dance promotes physical strength and agility, boosts concentration, develops an understanding of music and rhythm and generates a love of movement.
DANCE CLASSES AT CRESWELL
Whatever form of dance your child is interested in we offer a warm, welcoming environment where our highly trained, professional instructors encourage the students to improve their technique every class.
RECREATIONAL CLASSES ARE DIVIDED INTO AGE DIVISIONS:
- Pre-Dance: Ages 3-5
- Level 1 & RAD Primary – Grade 3: Ages 6-8
- Level 2 & RAD Grade 2 – Grade 4: Ages 9-10
- Level 3 & RAD Grade 3 – Grade 5: Ages 10-12
- Level 4 & RAD Inter/Adv: Ages 13+
*RAD Ballet is a curriculum-based program and the grade levels do not always match up to school grades
BALLET
Students will learn the importance of poise, posture, and control through the graceful art of ballet. Students will learn correct ballet terminology and how to correctly align their bodies for strength and grace.
JAZZ
A fun, upbeat class with emphasis on coordination, rhythm, body isolations and flexibility.
TAP
Let your child explore the multitudes of rhythms and learn musicality through the study of tap. Students will learn how to isolate the feet correctly to create rhythms and dance to varying time signatures.
HIP HOP
A current, upbeat class using the most modern and current age-appropriate choreography as seen in music videos and pop concerts. Students will learn to isolate the body and create strong stylized movements.
ACRO
A class where students will strengthen the body and increase flexibility in order to perform acrobatic and gymnastic tricks such as bridges, walkovers, flips, and partner assisted balances.
CONTEMPORARY/LYRICAL
Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.
MUSICAL THEATRE
Students will learn how to use characterization to play a role through dance. Traditional and current age-appropriate Broadway musical productions will be covered in this class.
